OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) senior outfielder Thomas McKenna (Bellerose, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. The senior had a .500 batting average, going 5-for-10 with three RBI and three runs scored to go along with two stolen bases in three games as the Bears went 2-1 this week. McKenna plated two runs batted in and a run scored in a victory over Maritime (N.Y.) on April 15th. The outfielder then finished 4-for-8 with two runs and an RBI over a doubleheader split with Briarcliffe on April 19th to extend his hitting streak to 12 games, matching a team high set by himself earlier this season and Chris Cutrone.
