OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman infielder/pitcher Brody Murphy (Waverly, Neb.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Murphy threw a complete game two-hit shutout in Nebraska Wesleyan's 1-0 victory over 10th-ranked University of Jamestown on Sunday. It marked the first loss of the season for Jamestown as they were 25-0 heading into the game. Murphy struck out five and walked just one to record his first career shutout. The freshman currently leads the Prairie Wolves with four victories on the mound so far this year.
