Gonzalez receives Association of Division III Independents baseball Student-Athlete of the Month award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle freshman Adam Gonzalez (Torrance, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents baseball Student-Athlete of the Month for April. The freshman concluded the month batting .373 (19-for-51) with 13 RBI, nine runs, four doubles and four stolen bases in 15 games. Gonzalez also went 2-1 on the mound with a 4.03 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched. The freshman opened the month with three RBI in a two-hit game against Merchant Marine on April 5th. On April 20th, Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with two RBI at St. Joseph's (L.I.) before ending the month with a month-high four RBI at Western Connecticut State on April 30th. On the mound, the freshman earned the win with a seven-inning complete game and one run allowed at CCNY on April 8th. Gonzalez also picked up the win on April 22nd against Baruch when he tossed a complete game with no earned runs allowed.
