OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents named St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball forward Michael Megafu its Male Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of November.
Megafu, a sophomore from Brooklyn, New York led the team throughout the month in scoring and rebounding averaging 15.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as St. Joseph's finished the month 2-3, losing two of those contests by three or fewer points. Last year's AD3I Rookie of the Year picked up where he left off last year scoring in double figures in all five games for the Bears during the month. The sophomore finished with two double-doubles including an 18-point, 15–rebound game against the University of Dallas on November 22nd going 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) from the field while rejecting three shots on his way to earning AD3I and USCAA Player of the Week honors. On November 16th Megafu helped lead St. Joseph's to their first win of the season against Centenary College with 11 points and 10 boards on 5-of-9 (55.6 percent) shooting. The forward concluded the month on a high note finishing with a season-high-tying 18 points on 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) shooting from the floor at USCAA foe Southern Virginia University. Megafu finished the month shooting an efficient 54.7 percent from the floor, dishing out 1.4 assists per game, coming up with 1.8 steals per game and swatting away 2.4 shots per game to fill out the stat sheet.
