OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior forward Travis Giesselmann (Elkhorn, Neb.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. Giesselmann averaged 31.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as he led the Prairie Wolves to a pair of GPAC victories on the week. The senior also averaged 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as Nebraska Wesleyan improved to 12-4. The forward recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 35 points and 11 rebounds in a win over rival Doane on January 13th. Giesselmann was 13-of-25 (52.0 percent) from the field and 5-of-11 from downtown in the win over the Tigers, adding three assists and three steals. In a win over Morningside on Saturday, the senior poured in 27 points and led Nebraska Wesleyan with eight rebounds and eight assists. The forward is now a two-time Player of the Week recipient and is second in the Association with 24.1 points per game.
