Davis receives Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Alfred State College senior guard Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. Davis averaged 14.0 points, 7.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game as the Pioneers went 2-1 on the week. The senior scored in double figures in all three games and shot 44.4 percent from the floor. The guard began the week with 14 points and five assists against SUNY Poly on Tuesday before producing a week-high 15 points in Alfred State's victory over John Jay on Saturday. Davis capped off the week with a double-double by way of 13 points and 11 assists in a 90-81 victory over Five Towns College on Sunday.
