OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents named Maranatha Baptist University softball shortstop Emily Boogher, its Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of March.
Boogher is a sophomore from York, Pennsylvania. The shortstop dominated pitching during the month of March, amassing a .714 (10-for-14) batting average with a home run and five RBI. The sophomore had no trouble reaching base for Maranatha, sporting a .765 on base percentage and 1.071 slugging percentage. Boogher notched a hit in all five games for the Crusaders, including three multi-hit games and scored five runs. The shortstop had her most productive day of the month against North Central on March 21st, going 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI before concluding the day 5-for-7 against Crown and Martin Luther later in the day. The Player of the Week on March 25th currently leads the team with eight RBI on the season and paces the Association with a .562 batting average.
