OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior catcher Kayla Randel (Beatrice, Neb.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Randel was a force at the dish for Nebraska Wesleyan, batting .385 (10-for-26) with ten RBI in eight games as the Prairie Wolves picked up three wins on the week. The senior recorded an RBI in six of the eight games and belted three doubles and a triple, while walking three times. The catcher stepped up for Nebraska Wesleyan in their sweep of Mount Marty on Saturday, going 5-for-6 with two doubles, three RBI and gunned down two baserunners from behind the plate.
