Nebraska Wesleyan was outscored by just one point in the second half, but Midland University had built up too big of a lead too overcome as the Warriors defeated the Prairie Wolves 82-61 in GPAC women's basketball on Wednesday night in Fremont, Neb.
Courtney Cook scored a game-high 22 points to pace the Prairie Wolves. It was the second highest scoring output for Cook in her two year career at Nebraska Wesleyan.
NWU falls to 1-17 overall and 0-13 in GPAC play as they remain winless in conference play. Midland improves to 13-11, 9-5 in GPAC and completes the season sweep over the Prairie Wolves.
Midland shot 47.5 percent from the field and held NWU to just 35.6 percent. The Prairie Wolves were also hampered with 23 turnovers. NWU did outrebound Midland 34-29.
The Prairie Wolves now return home to face 10th-ranked Morningside College on Saturday afternoon.
