Johnson named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University sophomore forward Kelsey Johnson (Stephenson, Mich.) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Johnson recorded a triple-double and averaged 20.3 points per game as the Sabercats went 2-1 on the week. The sophomore shot 46.8 percent from the field and averaged 12.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. The forward opened the week with a career-high 23 points against Lincoln Christian on Tuesday. Johnson concluded the week with a triple-double against Great Lakes Christian, posting 21 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists.
