OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Illinois Institute of Technology senior outside hitter Irena Grauzinis (St. Charles, Ill.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Player of the Week. The senior ended the week with 78 kills and 4.88 kills per set as the Scarlet Hawks went 3-1 on the week. The outside hitter recorded double-digit kills in all four matches, including two matches with more than 20 kills, and concluded the week with two double-doubles. Grauzinis began the week with 24 kills and 16 digs in Illinois Tech's win over St. Mary-Woods on Friday before finishing with 23 kills and 16 digs in the second match of the day against Rochester. The senior capped off the week with 18 and 13 kills, respectively, against Berea and Wright St. (Lake) on Saturday. Grauzinis hit .215 on the week with 2.56 digs per set and now leads the Association with 294 kills.
