Johnson awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University junior outside hitter/defensive specialist Kelsey Johnson (Daggett, Mich.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Player of the Week. Johnson led the Sabercats to a 2-2 week and finished the week with a triple-double against Moody Bible. The junior recorded ten kills, 15 digs and 20 assists in the straight-set win over Moody Bible. Johnson was just one kill away from two straight triple-doubles when she finished with nine kills, ten digs and 16 assists in a straight-set win over Silver Lake. The junior's play earned her an all-tournament selection at the Rockford Quad. On the week, Johnson registered 26 kills, 79 assists, 50 digs and five blocks, recording double-digit assists and digs in all four matches.
