Johnson awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University junior outside hitter/defensive specialist Kelsey Johnson (Daggett, Mich.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Player of the Week. Johnson helped lead the Sabercats to a 3-1 record this week, finishing with 40 kills, 69 assists, 41 digs and three blocks. The junior hit .317 and had a triple-double and double-double on the week. Johnson opened the week with 16 assists and 11 digs in the Sabercats' win over Rockford on Tuesday. The junior capped off the week with 15 kills, 22 assists and 21 digs against MSOE on Saturday. Johnson is currently third in the Association in kills and second in hitting percentage.
