Johnson awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University junior setter Kelsey Johnson (Daggett, Mich.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month for September. Johnson was the key contributor to the Sabercats' 11-win month, as she amassed 171 kills, 331 assists, 221 digs and 21 blocks. The junior currently leads AD3I in assists while ranking third in kills, hitting percentage and points. The two-time Player of the Week recorded five triple-doubles during the month with the first coming on September 7th when she produced ten kills, 13 assists and 11 digs at Wisconsin River Falls. The junior later recorded ten kills, 20 assists and 15 digs in a win over Moody Bible on September 15th. Johnson ended the month with 15 kills, 22 assists and 21 digs against MSOE on September 29th.
